Chinese Student Association to hold awareness forum

In response to negative media interpretation of the Olympic Games in China, CSU's Chinese student association is holding an open discussion forum Thursday on the Lory Student Center plaza to facilitate cultural awareness and to give an alternate perspective on the issues affecting the games.

The lead petitioners of the recent student government presidential election withdrew an appeal Wednesday that threatened to force another election and remove the president-elect and vice president-elect from office. Student Estevan Jaimes, the primary petitioner, pulled the appeal before the Associated Students of CSU Supreme Court, saying it was an effort to "address procedural errors that occurred" during the campaign period.

Reservoir proposal fuels local debates

After Poudre River named endangered, more concerns arise among residents

The proposed Glade Reservoir north of Fort Collins has heightened in debate among citizens, municipalities and cities along the Front Range after the Poudre River became ranked third in a top 10 list of endangered American Rivers. Construction is projected to begin in 2009, and the reservoir is slated to be operational by 2012, according to the Northern Integrated Supply Project, which supplies water to communities in northern Colorado.
