Benefits program proposal campaign winds down

CSU is looking at changing its cafeteria-style employee benefits program in favor of a more standard model. There is no question that the new employee benefit program is the only reasonable choice for CSU, said Physics Department Chair Hans Hochheimer. "It is the right thing to do and the fair thing to do," Hochheimer said.

Since the early 1920s, the "A" has been prominently displayed above where Hughes Stadium now resides - on the side of the mountain. Reminiscent of when CSU was primarily an agricultural school, the "A" stands for Aggies (CSU's past moniker). The letter was and continues to be a billboard of CSU pride.
Preserving the peace

Alumni across the nation are serving in the Peace Corps, and among large colleges and universities, CSU ranks 12th, which is an increase from last year's ranking of 13th. "Our recruiting numbers tend to be high and we continue to be one of the top recruiters in the country," said Karen Gardenier, the coordinator of the CSU Masters Peace Corps program.

Pavarotti dies at 71

Residents and rescue workers were taken by surprise when one of the largest rainstorms in state history caused Spring Creek to overflow, creating a flash flood that engulfed much of the city and the heart of the CSU campus.

If kindness could be measured in dollars and cents, a few hours of service might seem like pocket change to those who sacrificed the semester's first Saturday afternoon as part of CSU's RamServe. But coordinators estimate the 460 student and community volunteers provided about $25,000 in community service over the course of only three hours.
