About 1,000 strong came to their feet Thursday evening at Moby Arena to salute CSU volleyball head coach Tom Hilbert after winning his 500th career match. The celebration came on the heels of the Rams' straight set victory over the Air Force Falcons (25-17, 25-12, 27-25).
Rams to host Western State in exhibition finale

The CSU men's basketball team takes to the court again Saturday for the final exhibition game of the 2009-2010 season against the Mountaineers of Western State College. The Mountaineers are the second Division-II team from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference the Rams have faced this season after they knocked off Regis Tuesday by a score of 74-65.

The CSU women's basketball team concludes its exhibition season tonight at Moby Arena against the Grizzlies of Adams State. Head coach Kristen Holt is excited for this final preseason contest. "We've learned a lot since the last exhibition (against CSU-Pueblo)," Holt said.

Even after reliving former offensive coordinator of his coaching duties and temporarily pulling quarterback Grant Stucker in favor of back up Jon Eastman, the Rams (3-7 0-6) still lost to the UNLV Rebels (4-6 2-4) Saturday night in Las Vegas. The defeat marks the seventh consecutive loss for CSU and ends any hope of a bowl game.
CSU blew three-goal lead to Buffs

What started out as a blowout by the CSU Rams in the first period turned into a close game in the second and a long drive back home to Fort Collins after the third. The Rams lost to the rival CU-Boulder Buffaloes, falling 5-3 Thursday night at the Pepsi Center in front of a divided crowd of nearly 3,000 college hockey fans.

Mestdagh leads Rams over Grizzlies

The CSU women's basketball team finished their exhibition season 2-0 after defeating the Adams State Grizzlies 84-67 on Friday night. Sophomore Kim Mestdagh led the Rams with a career-high 30 points on 64 percent shooting. Mestdagh also paced the defensive unit with seven steals in what head coach Kristen Holt called an "overall awesome game.
