Point-Counterpoint: CSU Privatization
By
The typical student views his or her higher education experience as a right rather than a privilege. When I have criticized certain classroom policies in the past, other students have often told me to view college as a blessing rather than a "product.
CSU's speech policies leave too much room for interpretation
By
Several weeks ago, I described the state of free speech at CSU. This month, the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, a national non-profit that monitors the state of free speech on college campuses, once again surveyed CSU's policies and gave our university a "yellow light," meaning there's still on the books "at least one ambiguous policy that too easily encourages administrative abuse and arbitrary application.

Obama's anger with Fox News stems from immaturity
By
When Obama was elected president, he suggested that he was going to usher in a new era of transparency and non-partisan politics in America. His proponents claimed that he was the smartest, most educated and most tolerant name on the election ballot in perhaps decades.
Yays and Nays

Yay | to basketball season starting up. Between the Nuggets and the Rams, we have at least one team to be proud of. Nay | to the struggling CSU football team, which has dropped five games in a row. Have you ever been saddened to see an animal get mistreated? Have you ever gotten angry at all the trees being cut down? Now, have you ever driven a car? Have you ever bought fruit from the grocery store or a cup of Guatamalan coffee? Have you ever eaten a burger or chicken wings? And do you live in a house? If you answered yes to questions from both of these paragraphs, then you're a hypocrite.

Care campaign concept a fantastic idea
By
The concept of a care campaign is a fantastic idea. It could do so many things to at least bring some joy into the lives of people who are suffering from, say, poverty or a highly publicized untimely death of a loved one. But some Fort Collins individuals have lumped into the demographic of people who deserve to benefit from such an initiative a family that is going through a tough time only because they asked for it.
Concealed carry promotes student safety
By
Since 2003, CSU students have been allowed to carry concealed weapons onto campus for the purpose of self-defense, granted that they have a Colorado Concealed Weapons permit. Over the summer, Faculty Council passed a resolution that requested the administration draft a stricter weapons policy for CSU.
