DENVER (AP) - A bill allowing partners of gay and lesbian state workers to get health insurance coverage is headed to the governor. The bill got final approval Tuesday in the House. Same-sex partners who've been in a committed relationship with a state employee for at least a year would qualify for coverage.

DETROIT (AP) - General Motors Corp. told its dealers Tuesday that it will force 1,000 to 1,200 underperforming locations to close their doors as the automaker tries to thin dealer ranks to make the remaining outlets more profitable. GM told the dealers about the plan in a video conference, according to a dealer who spoke on condition of anonymity because the video conference was private.

Graduate student charged with sexual assault of child

CSU student Mohammed Alsukairi was charged with sexually assaulting a child, authorities said Tuesday. The 24-year-old business graduate student remains in custody in Boulder County Jail with bond set at $50,000. A date for his preliminary hearing was unknown as of Tuesday afternoon, spokesperson for the Boulder County District Attorney's Office Catherine Olguin said.

On Tuesday, children from the Early Childhood Center on campus were out on the Lory Student Center Plaza selling lemonade to help raise money for a local agency.
