When the Colorado State Rams take the field on Saturday afternoon, they will be playing much more than a typical game. The Rams (5-6, 3-4 MWC) are set to face the Wyoming Cowboys (4-7, 1-6 MWC) at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie, renewing one of the biggest rivalry games of the season.

Saturday afternoon the Rams host their first regular season home game in Moby Arena against the Idaho Vandals. The Rams started the regular season at 0-2, including a crushing 30-point loss to rival CU-Boulder Wednesday night, but coaches and players are still convinced this is a different basketball team than last year.

A penny saved is a penny earned. Such is the case this year for the Rams football team and the cash-strapped athletics department at CSU. Thanks to a schedule drafted by the Mountain West Conference and three non-conference games played within state, the team is saving thousands of precious dollars from its travel budget, investing some of the extra money in recruiting as part of the program's rebuilding efforts.
