By Matt L. Stephens

Men's Basketball A year ago, the CSU men's basketball team started their season with only two familiar names in 7-footers Stuart Creason and Ronnie Aguilar. There were a couple of promising junior college transfers and freshman recruits, but the roster still wasn't full, so first year head coach Tim Miles held open walk-on tryouts where the Rams added three more players, two of which would play on a nightly basis.

After winning their first two exhibition games against Adams State and Colorado Christian, the CSU women's basketball team fell to the Wichita State Shockers on the road in overtime Saturday, 76-69. By Scott Callahan

The Rams men's and women's cross country teams both finished in seventh place in the Mountain Region Championship race this weekend at Collindale Golf Course. Senior running back Gartrell Johnson III made his Senior Day one to remember as he ran for more yards than any other player had against the Lobos all season, earning 131 yards and a touchdown.

The Star Report: Farris leads Rams in turnaround season

By Sean Star

For four years, Billy Farris watched from the sideline, patiently waiting his turn. After redshirting as a walk-on in 2004, he spent a majority of the next three years on the bench. When he did find the field, he was simply put in to mop up the garbage left behind by the starters.
