CSU sweeps SDSU

Controlling its own destiny for a Mountain West Conference title, the CSU volleyball team won the first of four must-win games with a 3-0 sweep over a young San Diego State team Thursday night at Moby Arena. Not looking ahead to its big weekend at BYU and Utah, the Rams easily swept the Aztecs (25-18, 25-18, 25-17) and have themselves pointed in the right direction after their loss at TCU.
Rams set to battle Grizzlies

In his first game at CSU last season, Tim Miles saw the Montana Grizzlies manhandle his young CSU Rams, 75-39. That contest was on the road against a very experienced team, in front of a hostile crowd, and Miles had just one returning starter -- but that won't be the case for the season opener when the Rams host Montana at 7 p.
Cross Country trying to keep post season alive

This Saturday, the CSU Rams cross country teams will race in the Mountain Region Championships in one last effort to save their season. The race will be hosted in Fort Collins and will feature tough competition from teams like Texas Tech, Brigham Young, New Mexico and Colorado, among others.

Men's basketball dominates in regular season opener

Last year the Montana Grizzlies drubbed the CSU men's basketball team 75-39. This season the score was equally as lopsided, 85-55, but there was a catch; the score was in the Rams favor. Oh, what a difference a year can make, as it was the Rams dominated the Grizz, never trailing in the season opener.
Ram seniors ready for New Mexico

After dropping their previous two games, the CSU Rams (4-6, 2-4 MWC) are ready to get back on track this weekend for Senior Day as they host New Mexico (4-7, 2-5) in the final home game of the season. The New Mexico Lobos come to Fort Collins touting the conference's second best rushing offense, as well as the best pass defense in the MWC.
Gartrell happy with his career at CSU

When Gartrell Johnson suits up in green and gold Saturday afternoon, runs through the cement tunnel leading to Sunny Lubick field and sets foot on the spongy turf, he will be doing it for the last time. Now, on the eve of his final game at Hughes Stadium, the senior is completely focused on going out with a victory.

The CSU women's basketball team heads to Wichita, Kan., for the first regular season game of the year against the Wichita State Shockers this Saturday. After winning the first two exhibition games of the season, the Rams will have momentum Saturday afternoon as they face off against a team who finished last season 9-21.
