"Headlines you don't want in the Collegian. Go!" shouts Nicole Mikulics at Joe Keilman, as they rehearse games for their show tonight. "What's great? Not these guys!" Keilman shouts back and quickly continues to rattle off disastrous headlines. The banter back and forth between players continues with "Things Not to Say to Lindsay Lohan" ("your butt used to be smaller"), "Bad Pickup Lines" ("I want to date your mom") and "Ways to Get a Sticker off Your Door" ("get a new door").
Libraries display banned books

An international event, Banned Book Week -- taking place from Sept. 30 to Oct. 4 -- features libraries around the country that display books which have sparked controversy. And it's no different in Fort Collins. "It's a way for the district to raise awareness about the freedom to read whatever we want and to choose what we read," said Jean Gullikson, the children's programming librarian at Fort Collin's Main Library.
'White Oleander' expresses angst

A novel chosen by Oprah Winfrey for her book club and made into a movie in 2002, "White Oleander," breaches the imagination and experiences of a girl, Astrid, coming of age in an ever-changing home environment. Her mother, Ingrid, is an artist and poet who is suspected of murdering her boyfriend, who has an uncanny hold over her daughter.
'Choke' scenes graphic and sex driven

Sex doesn't only sell -- it also drives the script behind the movie "Choke," which is based off of author Chuck Palahniuk's novel of the same name. The plot the movie is based on revolves around Victor Mancini, a sex-addicted colonial theme park worker who visits his deranged mother in a private hospital.
Technology of the future: things we want to see

Historically it has been proven that technological speculation becomes reality. Technology that was dreamed of in 1960's science fiction is reality today -- video conferencing, cell phones, space stations and more. Possibly the only thing more exciting than knowing this is knowing that the technology we dream of today will become a reality before our lives are over.
'Last Comic Standing' comes to Ft. Collins

After its eighth season of entertaining viewers across America, "Last Comic Standing" is sending finalists to the Lincoln Center tonight. A wide variety of stand-up finalists competed to make it to the national tour. The five finalists, winner Iliza Shlesinger, Jim Tavare, Jeff Dye, Marcus and tour Master of Ceremonies Louis Ramey each have 20 minutes to amuse the crowd, showing off the skills that got them to the finals on one of America's most watched TV shows.
Teo Paralez balances music and classes

If the name Teo Peralez sounds familiar, it's probably because you've seen the signs around campus advertising his local performances. Then again, maybe you've just had a class with him. Teo is in his third year at CSU, double-majoring in electrical/computer engineering and economics.
