Kids in an after-school club at O'Dea Elementary have a goal of donating $1,800 a year to CSU athletics. They meet that goal by selling homemade pins at CSU sporting events. At 15 cents each, that's a lot of pins. Fourteen years ago, O'Dea Elementary teacher Russ Fulton started the after-school program "Rams Club" to promote spirit for CSU athletics.

NEW YORK - JPMorgan Chase & Co. Inc. came to the rescue of Washington Mutual Inc. Thursday, buying the thrift's banking assets after WaMu was seized by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. in the largest failure ever of a U.S. bank. This is the second time in six months that JPMorgan Chase has taken over a major financial institution crippled by bad bets in the mortgage market.

Chairs cluttered the New Belgium Brewery parking lot, blankets filled the lawn and about 1,000 people lined up to purchase beer at the bike-in cinema last night to honor a CSU staff member who was killed in July when she was hit by car on her bike. The special benefit showing of the Coen brothers' classic, "The Big Lebowski," celebrated the life of Rebecca Allen, an avid cyclist and former undergraduate program adviser for the Department of Journalism and Technical Communication.

CSU alumnus found dead in home

CSU alumnus Jason Hill was found dead in his home by his roommate this morning after he slipped into a diabetic coma overnight. The exact time of death is unknown. Hill, a type-1 diabetic who graduated in May a Dean's list honoree, was an honors business administration student but was also very involved in the theatre program at CSU.
