Barnes rapidly rises to volleyball stardom

It took a little while for volleyball to find Mekana Barnes, but it didn't take her too long to figure out that the sport was for her. Barnes was a high school sophomore basketball player who had only fiddled with volleyball in P.E. class before a ThunderRidge High School coach recommended she try to get balls over a net, instead of through one.

After multiple seasons full of steps into the national spotlight, the CSU Club Hockey team is looking to take an even bigger step into Division-I competition. The Rams, who made it to the national club tournament the past two seasons, are currently circulating a petition and gathering support in an attempt for the University to grant them D-I status.
