CSU rider wins national cycling championship

CSU graduate student Dan Lionberg pedaled his way to a national cycling championship Saturday in Colorado Springs, finishing just six points ahead of competitor David Espinoza of Penn State University. Lionberg's gold in the individual omnium competition -- awarded to the cyclist with the most individual competition points ¬¬-- was one of many medals won by the CSU Rams cycling team, including silvers in the Team Pursuit and the team omnium competitions.

Men's Golf Sept. 20 and 21 the men's golf team heads to Ann Arbor, Mich., to play in the Wolverine International. The Rams will face off against Michigan, Michigan State, California, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin, among others. "If we can keep the same consistency we had in the last tournament, we will have a good weekend," said head coach Jamie Bermel.

Volleyball team confident after "Big" weekend

The CSU volleyball team is beaming with confidence after dominating the Rocky Mountain Challenge, defeating the CU Buffs, North Carolina Tarheels and No. 8 Florida Gators, losing only one set along the way. "I think we played pretty flawlessly. We did everything that was asked of us," said sophomore outside hitter Jacque Davisson.
Cross country teams capture a pair of wins

The CSU cross-country teams walked away triumphant from their only home meet of the season this weekend, the Colorado State Classic. The warm weather after several days of clouds and rain, along with the support of a hometown crowd made Saturday a great day for a race.
