Freshman kicker DeLine on target for the Rams

Two weeks ago, Ben DeLine was a backup kicker enjoying the college life. Now he is the newest hero on the CSU football team. DeLine, a true freshman, hit the game winning field goal in the Rams' home opener against the Sacramento State Hornets (1-1). The Steamboat native's kick propelled CSU (1-1) to a 23-20 come-from-behind victory, their first of the season.

Rams squeak by Hornets, 23-20

On Saturday afternoon, everyone in Hughes Stadium expected a win from Colorado State. The Rams won, but not like most expected, kicking a game winning field goal as time expired to top the Sacramento State Hornets (1-1) 23-20. CSU freshman kicker Ben DeLine was the unanticipated story of the game.

CSU club baseball team gains a home field

When the CSU Rams baseball team took the field for their scrimmage Sunday, they stepped out on a new one. Though the City Park South Ball Field on South Bryan St. has been in use since June, CSU and the city of Fort Collins officially dedicated the field to the CSU Rams club baseball team Sunday afternoon in front of a crowd roughly 100 people.

Volleyball finishes weekend road trip 2-1

The CSU volleyball team defeated the Pacific Tigers 3-1 in Corvallis, Ore. on Sunday to wrap up their first road trip of the young season. The Rams (5-1) finished the weekend with a 2-1 record at the Asics Classic and now have a better idea of where they stand as a team.

A win is a win is a win. But, man, never has one felt so unsatisfying. Saturday was supposed to be a piece of cake. It turned out to be tougher than a dorm-cooked steak. Somehow, someway, the Rams held back their gag reflex and washed it down with a pair of clutch kicks and a fortunate fumble.

Patriots QB Brady out of opener vs. Chiefs

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) _ Tom Brady went from the disappointment of a Super Bowl loss to the devastation of an injury that could keep him out for the rest of the season. After missing the entire preseason with an unspecified foot injury, Brady left Sunday's season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs in the first quarter after being hit on the left leg by Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard.
