Marijuana prohibition makes no sense

Ian Bezek

By Ian Bezek

While I always enjoy Cheba Hut's parties, 4/20 is hard to celebrate while hundreds of thousands of innocent people are locked in jails across America for mere marijuana possession. It is absolutely asinine to continue to ruin people's lives by banning a virtually harmless drug.

ASCSU appeals should focus on process not pres.

Sean Reed

By Sean Reed

Taylor Smoot, the newly elected Associated Students of CSU president, has had a ride destined for campus record books. His election, just two short weeks ago, saw the highest turnout in student government history, and he and his running mate Quinn Girrens, a former member of the ASCSU Supreme Court, won in a landslide.

Our View: We need to go 'green'

Unless you live under a rock, you probably know that our country is in debt. Big time debt. Regardless of whether or not you support the war in Iraq, most will admit that it has cost us, both in lives lost and money spent. Now, more than ever, our economy could use a little boost -- something that would benefit both the government and people.

Face Off: Students peel back on the layer of the ASCSU fee proposal

Sean Reed

By Sean Reed

Danny Christopher, a sophomore journalism major, sat down with the Collegian and explained why he thinks Smoot's proposal is a good idea. Q: Do you approve of Taylor Smoot's student fee proposal? A: I do. I think getting a concert would get people more involved and make people more happy with the campus and make people more proud to go to CSU.

Perspectives on party crackdowns

By Kathleen Harward

One of life's annoying truths is that there are few absolutes. As somebody said it, "There is no absolute truth, not even in this statement itself." Sometimes I hate the notion that truth depends on perspective, but I think this is the case much of the time.

A look back on this year

By Trevor Trout

The Associated Students of CSU Senate has worked hard this year to fight for students' rights, and we'd like to tell you about some of our work. We've charged two new positions with reaching out to students. As well, we've written bi-monthly Collegian articles, spoken to KCSU, organized a student organization forum, created a legislative posting board and a point of contact through our Web site.

To the fashion and merchandising person, actually without agriculture you'd be NAKED, hungry, and sober. Ladies, where have those legs been all winter? Just another reason to look forward to the summer... To my roommate: Just because I play Halo and never clean and ALL you do is clean doesn't mean we dont get along .
