AVA pulls out of manufacturing facility plan

AVA Solar announced Thursday that they have abandoned plans to build a new manufacturing facility at the southwest corner of I-25 and Prospect Road. The city traded land to the CSU Research Foundation, with plans to develop the new research center. The land would have also been used by AVA Solar to build a new manufacturing facility for energy and cost efficient solar panels.
CSUnity highlights student service work

Entering its 12th year, CSUnity, a one-day service event sponsored by the university, works to dispel the myth that all college students do is drink beer. And thousands of CSU students have volunteered their time to show the community students care. Local publishers are crying foul over a city ordinance passed last week by the Fort Collins City Council that increases restrictions on news racks throughout, particularly in the downtown area. The ordinance comes amidst concerns of a lack of maintenance and increasing numbers of downtown news racks.
