White House computer expert provides inside look into 'primative' e-mail system

WASHINGTON (AP) _ A computer expert who worked at the White House provided the first inside look at its e-mail system Tuesday, calling it a "primitive" setup that created a high risk that data would be lost. Steven McDevitt's written statements, placed on the public record at a congressional hearing, asserted that a study by White House technical staff in October 2005 turned up an estimated 1,000 days on which e-mail was missing.

CSU's Housing and Dining Department is looking to foster environmental stewardship and launch eco-friendly pilot programs with the opening of Ram's Horn, the Academic Village Dining Center. The building is designed as a testing ground for green initiatives that could model the environmentally friendly practices of future residence halls and buildings campuswide.

MIAMI (AP) _ A problem with Florida's electrical grid caused a nuclear plant to automatically shut down Tuesday and intermittently cut power to up to 3 million people from Daytona Beach through the Florida Keys. Authorities said there were no safety concerns at the nuclear plant and were working to pinpoint the outages' cause.
