CU-Boulder student editorial sparks controversy

CU-Boulder students and community members are up in arms over a column published Monday on CU's online student newspaper that some readers say was a racist attack on the Asian-American population. The column in the Campus Press, titled "If it's war the Asians want … It's war they'll get," addressed relations between Asian-Americans and white students on the CU campus.

The small meeting room on the second floor of the LSC was packed with students as Burris began his speech.

ASCSU endorses Rec. Center expansion

Following hours of intense debate, student government passed a bill endorsing a proposed expansion of the Student Recreation Center, with a 19-2-1 vote Wednesday night during their Senate meeting. The endorsement was made "with reservations," however, as members of the Senate were not completely comfortable with the proposed project plan, citing lack of transparency and alternatives as the key influences on their decision-making.

Navy missile hit wayward spy satellite on first attempt, toxic fuel tank probably

WASHINGTON (AP) _ A missile launched from a Navy cruiser soared 130 miles above the Pacific and smashed a dying and potentially deadly U.S. spy satellite Wednesday, the Pentagon said. Two defense officials said it apparently achieved the main aim of destroying an onboard tank of toxic fuel.
