Campus crime down, hearings up
DUI reports and violations at Hughes Stadium spike

While several reports of crime on campus have fallen in recent years according to the CSU Police Department, reports of drunk driving and underage drinking at sports events have spiked. Reports of driving under the influence increased nearly 200 percent from 2004 to 2006-from 32 to 94 cases-and violations at Hughes Stadium have doubled since 2005, according to the CSUPD annual crime statistics report for 2006.

On Saturday morning, the horses that live in the Adams-Atkinson Arena west of Overland Trail didn't know what to think about their domain that was suddenly invaded by a pack of collegiate lumberjacks. By Saturday night, the floor, usually covered by dirt and horseshoe prints, was blanketed in the remains of 130 blocks of wood that had been demolished throughout the day.
Native American Student Services host Native American Awareness Month

Through a series of events commemorating and informing the community about native heritage in the U.S., the Native American Student Services (NASS) hopes to squash decades-old stereotypes as part of Native American Awareness Month. The NASS plans to educate students and community members about the successes of the Native American community as well as discuss the obstacles yet to be overcome by displaying Native American books through November in the Lory Student Center, Morgan Library and Fort Collins Public Library, along with various presentations and activities.
