Art students enjoy department benefits

Walk into the CSU art building past 10 p.m. and there will probably still be some students covered in paint, pastels and clay, working on semester projects. But with the set up available to art students, that's not such a hard thing to believe. With a different studio for each concentration the program offers, the Art Department is dedicated to creating an environment that helps students produce the best work they can while helping them prepare for their futures.
Students to get loose at wild goose ball

CSU will host a night of dancing, music and elegance at the 24th annual Wild Goose Masquerade Ball 8 p.m Saturday in the Lory Student Center Ballroom. The live music event will feature the Denver Pops 50-piece Orchestra (commonly referred to as the Mostly Strauss Orchestra).
Class educates students on brewing beer

From the farm to the table, students on campus can study the beer brewing process while earning college credit. Professor Jack Avens and graduate students Jeff Callaway with Donna LaChey form the team that teaches FTEC 460, Brewing Science and Technology, a hands-on course that educates the student on all aspects of brewing beer.

CSU hosts 'Day at the Corn Maze'

College students have a penchant for getting lost. But Jenny Dejmal, a CSU senior and single mother, knows every turn, nook and cranny to make it to the end of a maze unscathed.
As a staff member at Off-Campus Student Services/Resources for Adult Learners (OCSS/RAL), Dejmal spent months preparing for Saturday's CSU's Day at the Corn Maze.
"Something from the Farm," located near I-25 and Harmony Road, is the site of three corn mazes designed for all ages.
CSU scientist contribute to Nobel Prize-winning research

David Randall, an atmospheric science professor at CSU, is tired, even though he has been spending most of his day sitting in discussion. He is one scientist among thousands who, guided by the years of research and reports, are working together to complete the Fourth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
Poetry slams CSU

CSU and the Creative Writing Program of the English Department offer a free event that features the prestigious authors from the region. Tonight, the series brings a special occasion to campus this year. Six well-known poets are visiting to read and sell their work.
