Former graduate still shares his talents with CSU

Homecoming isn't just about a school for CSU alumnus Bill Woods. It's about celebrating the place where he gained knowledge, a degree and met the love of his life almost 50 years ago. Not missing a homecoming since 1980, the golden leaves mark a time of year Woods dedicates to the university, from coordinating the lighting of the "A" to cheering on the Rams at a game he knows all too well.
Social drinkers earn more, study finds

Brett Kokes calls himself a "social drinker." "Going to the bar relieves tension," he said, nursing a mug of beer at the Ramskeller on a recent afternoon. "Less stress leads to better working conditions." Although the senior zoology major doesn't have a job, it appears he may be right.
Health center gears up for flu season

Flu season is here. To combat it, Hartshorn Health Service is preparing to give out vaccinations as a precautionary measure to what continues to be a problematic and sometimes dangerous illness. According to the Mayo Clinic's Web site, as many as 36,000 Americans die each year and 200,000 are hospitalized due to the common flu.
CANstruction Demolishes Hunger

Students on the Lory Student Center Plaza caught a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben and the Leaning Tower of Pisa all in one place Thursday. Thirteen teams competed to build the best structure out of donated cans of food for CANstruction. The structures had to involve the theme of hunger awareness, and the end results included the I'm-Full Tower, the Time to Stop Hunger clock tower and the Leaning Tower of Peas.

TUESDAY October 3 Officers assisted the Loveland Police Department at Parmelee Hall where they took a domestic violence suspect into custody for Loveland PD. A criminal mischief call was reported at Ingersoll Hall. Someone wrote on several bulletin boards.
BREAKING NEWS - Student board: SAE should go
Greek Board of Standards and Values Alignment recommends revoking the fraternity's recognition.
A student board, whose recommendations "weigh heavily" with the university, said Friday that Sigma Alpha Epsilon's university recognition should be revoked for violating Greek Life's no-alcohol policy. The decision came after the Greek Board of Standards and Values Alignment heard accusations Thursday night that a 17-year-old freshman girl overdosed on alcohol at the SAE house.
CSU defeats Rebels, 28-7 - see the slideshow!
CSU scored 14 points in a span of four minutes in the third quarter on its way to a 28-7 victory over Nevada-Las Vegas in the team's first Mountain West Conference game of the season Saturday.. Junior quarterback Caleb Hanie scored on a nine-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to give CSU (4-1, 1-0) a lead it would never give back.
