CSU's Libyan protestors demand U.S. action

Protestors gathered in the Plaza shouting “Obama has to know. Qaddafi has to go,” this afternoon to protest the actions of Libyan dictator Moammar Qaddafi, who has ruled the country with an iron fist for 42 years. There were around 50 protestors holding up signs, most of them from Libya who have family trapped in the country with no way to contact outsiders letting them know if they are alive or not. Gatherers held up signs calling the dictator a murderer and yelled that President Obama needs to take action. The organizer, Mahdi Omar, is from Libya and his entire family remains in the country. CSU won't pay for damaged property after pipe burst

CSU officials say the university is not liable for any damage caused to non-university-owned property damaged in last week’s pipe bursts. Director of Facilities Management Brian Chase said CSU only covers property damaged in cases of negligence, a term he defined as the failure to prevent or fix something the university knew would break. Chase said the university did everything in its power to prevent the pipe bursts brought on by the extreme cold weather last week by keeping the heat on “24/7” at full capacity. The Mishawaka Amphitheatre was sold Wednesday to Dani Grant, the owner of Chipper’s
Lanes. The amount the venue sold for has not been disclosed. Mishawaka, commonly called “The Mish,” was previously owned by Robin Jones before the venue was caught cultivating and selling 280 pounds of marijuana. In an e-mail sent out to campus Monday the Provost Office announced a new system that would drop students from classes if they didn’t pass the prerequisite they took the semester before.
