Cadets memorialize Death March in White Sands
On Sunday, 34 Air Force and Army cadets from CSU’s Reserve Officer Training Corps traveled to White Sands Missile Range to compete in a different kind of marathon than you’ll find on the streets of Boston or New York. Mar 29, 2011 | 12:01 am
The 2000s -- a decade in review: technology
Columnist’s Note: Before we get started on ushering out the decade (apparently that politically incorrect bum Father Time is waiting on us), we must clarify something about our column. Jan 18, 2010 | 12:51 am

The blackest of Fridays - zombies to attack humans
One week from today, we will complete the most American of traditions: standing in line at a store to get cheap prices. Dec 17, 2009 | 1:29 pm
Binary Boys do the Zombie Apocalypse: Day 1
Ryan and I had been out on the Plaza looking for the codes that were today’s mission for about two hours, at times just wandering and keeping our eyes out for zombies. Dec 5, 2009 | 4:16 pm
Hardcore flavor tripping making life a little sweeter [VIDEO]
Some of you may recall our column several weeks ago about the Facebook app FarmVille. We queried CSU students, trying, in vain, to discover why it is so popular. When we failed to find a single player of the game on the Plaza one afternoon. We concluded that they must all have been indoors playing it at that time of day. Jan 20, 2010 | 1:23 pm
Where does your student technology fee end up? [VIDEO]
Most of us pay exorbitant fees to attend this fine institution called Colorado State. Every semester, each student pays $20 toward developing the technology that you see and (hopefully) use all around campus. But don't make the mistake of thinking these funds are allocated by some grumpy old men over at the Administration Building. Jan 20, 2010 | 1:23 pm
Biggest week of the year for Mac vs. PC
This week just so happens to be the biggest week of the year for shiny new computer advances from our favorite companies, Apple and Microsoft. Today also happens to be the day Glen turns 00010101, or 21 years old if you aren't speakin' our language. Which means tonight he is gonna go a little crazy -- legally teaching other people how to drive. Jan 20, 2010 | 1:23 pm
The Future of Humanity Institution-alized [VIDEO]
Oh, hello there ... excuse us, we were just frolicking in this meadow. That's a normal thing to do, right? No? Really? Well, in that case we're gonna go shuck this corn. Say again? OK, now we think you're just pulling our proverbial transmogrified leg Jan 20, 2010 | 1:23 pm
Allow us to be your YouTube master sommeliers
We don't know about you, but we know that our time spent watching online video rivals our time spent watching cable television. We watch more "shows" that are produced by individuals than shows aired on the networks. This fact either has a lot to say about the shows that networks are airing or a lot to say about the awesomeness of user-created online video content. Jan 20, 2010 | 1:23 pm
Meme edition: The best of the Internet [VIDEO]
Let's start off with a quick definition of the term "Internet meme" -- pay attention class. We will use Wikipedia's definition because this is not a research paper in which such a travesty would be so greatly frowned upon. Internet meme: "A phrase used to describe a catchphrase or concept that spreads quickly from person to person via the Internet. Jan 20, 2010 | 1:23 pm
Dusting off that webcam and putting it to use -- a how to
We thought about not writing our column this week because of a certain event that occurred a little more than two days ago. We’re pretty sure a large portion of our readership will not be reading the paper today, but rather, working on the new Halo campaign. Jan 20, 2010 | 1:23 pm
Binary Boys shamelessly plug own Facebook fan page
It's been a while since we visited Facebook (well, in this column at least, sigh). Ahem, by-the-by, we have a fan page on that site now so ... you get the gist. Join us, and together we shall rule the galaxy as ... oh, wait, that quote doesn't make any sense in this situation. Jan 20, 2010 | 1:23 pm
And the geeks shall inherit the campus
We have a new favorite professor on campus -- OK maybe not "No. 1 fave," but at least he is now on our short list. Why? On a campus where most professors need student assistance to hook their computer up to a projector, this professor went on a short tangent in class to clarify that there is, in fact, a difference between a wizard and a warlock. Call (970) IMA-SEXY for a good time
Go ahead and raise your hand if you would enjoy having a custom phone number. Now raise your other hand if you think it would be cool to have your voicemail texted to you. Raise a foot if you think it would be useful to listen in as a voicemail is being left and have the option to answer it. Jan 20, 2010 | 1:23 pm
Get rich quick with t3ch skillz!
It's a keyboard ... it's a mouse ... no, it's the Binary Boys twice in one week! (queue cheers from imaginary fan girls that we wish we had). This week's topic is "How to get rich quick" -- no, we haven't succumbed to the pyramid schemes all of those old high school friends keep phoning about. Jan 20, 2010 | 1:23 pm
Who we are and how we are here to help
Last week our Collegian newsroom advisor asked around a room of staff members if they would be attending the company softball game later that day. Ryan was out of town and Glen was the sole Binary representative. When our adviser got around to Glen, she had an additional query -- "Do you know how to play?" As Glen's life flashed before his eyes (cue big whooshing noise), years upon years of nerdiness seemingly caught up with him all at once. Jan 20, 2010 | 1:23 pm

Binary Boys: A Midsummer Dream's gadget previews
The summer draws nigh. The library fills up. People relax on the grass and admire the pond-scummy lagoon. The trees are bare. Ahh, definitely a Fort Collins spring. Our number one and two priorities are finals and thinking about what's happening this summer -- and not necessarily in that order. Jan 20, 2010 | 1:23 pm
Binary Boys: How to run Windows on your Macintosh
Probably the biggest question that faces anyone in the market for a new computer, especially in college, is "PC or Mac?" Now before we give you an answer to that question, which will make half of you stop reading, we would like to call a truce. Both of us use both operating systems and have computers running both operating systems. Jan 20, 2010 | 1:22 pm
