The Collegian turns 120 years old: Our View
What a 120 years it has been. The Collegian has seen two world wars, the Kennedy assassin, the advent of the Internet and the Monica Lewinsky scandal. An on-campus stadium? Dream on, Colorado State: Our View
Our university sure has some big dreams. And while we don’t want to crush them entirely, CSU’s ambition might lead administrators to bite off a little more than they can chew. As reported in a Wednesday Coloradoan article, our new athletic director, Jack Graham, said he envisions a future with a football stadium on campus. Even President Tony Frank mentioned the same idea in an essay posted on the CSU website Dec. Dec 6, 2011 | 10:22 pm

Fairchild firing a welcomed choice for Colorado State: Our View
Well, it finally happened. After three straight 3-9 seasons with the Rams football team, coach Steve Fairchild was fired on Sunday – a decision that didn’t surprise anyone here at the Collegian. Bathroom graffiti is a waste of our money: Our View
While the Collegian editorial board is all about artistic expression, we think things went too far after a vandalism incident in a women’s restroom in Clark-C. As reported in today’s article on the front page, Ann Gill, dean of the College of Liberal Arts, was livid after seeing “be the change you want to see in the world,” scrawled across the bathroom wall. According to Gill, it was very difficult to find the funds needed to pay for bathroom upgrades this summer. Nov 29, 2011 | 11:40 pm

College athletes work hard and deserve their perks

Penn State: Focus less on Paterno, more on real crime: Our View
The controversy surrounding Penn State came to an unfathomable end with the termination of legendary coach Joe Paterno and school president Graham Spanier on Thursday. Paterno’s fate has been the focus of the sexual abuse scandal surrounding Penn State, but the spotlight needs to be placed on former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky. Sandusky is accused of sexually molesting up to eight young boys in the team’s showers, but the conversation coming from this terrible crime revolves around Paterno and his tarnished legacy instead of the real heart of the matter. Whether Paterno did all that he could have – or should have – is not the issue here. Nov 11, 2011 | 12:21 am
