Rams head to Morehead State to open CBI

Kentucky might not have beaches or tropical weather but the CSU Rams couldn’t think of a better place to spend their spring break. The Rams (16-15) are in the blue grass state and ready to face the Morehead State Eagles (23-9) in the opening round of the College Basketball Invitational Wednesday night. The game will mark CSU’s first post season appearance since 2003.

Bill giving students vote on CSU System Board of Governors postponed indefinitely in Senate

To the disappointment of student government leaders, the bill giving two students voting rights on the CSU System Board of Governors was postponed indefinitely 2-6 in the state Senate Education Committee Thursday afternoon. Though House Bill 1206 did not become law this legislative session, Associated Students of CSU and CSU-Pueblo student government leaders are ready to head back to the drawing board and make improvements, said Matt Worthington, director of ASCSU’s Legislative Affairs Department. “We left the committee thinking, we shall return,” Worthington said of students’ plans for the future. There was a lot of discussion in support of HB 1206, Worthington said, but senators were concerned that students do not have the lifetime experience current board members bring to the table. While he understands that students do not have the same level of political and business expertise as someone like CSU Chancellor Joe Blake, who has ran in the “Denver arena for 40 years,” ASCSU President Dan Gearhart said students have a unique and equally important outlook. “We have student experience,” Gearhart said.

Two killed in AZ crash

One CSU student is dead and another injured after a car crash on Interstate 40 in Arizona early Saturday. 19-year-old Damon Johnson and 20-year-old Katelyn Henning, a CSU student, were killed when their vehicle drifted into the westbound lane and rolled over, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Driver and CSU student Andrew Schall, 20, was treated for minor injuries and Nicole Franco, 19, was injured and treated at a hospital in Las Vegas.

The only thing better than seeing a group of bike cops staking out a hot spot is seeing the cop in his car waiting to back them up.

Apparently being able to check off every sex position your sexuality professor shows you doesn’t get you an automatic “A” on the test. To the girl that fell asleep mid-exam: Thanks for giving me the extra inspiration. Even if I ended up doing bad at least I finished the test. To all the professors giving out homework and suggesting we study over break: When did you study during your Spring Break in college? To whoever left a banana peel on the sidewalk: Haven’t you ever played Mario Kart? That could have really hurt somebody.
