The Waka Winter Classic is a traveling music festival that’s making its 11th stop in Fort Collins this Saturday at 8 p.m. at Hodi’s Half Note. The festival has made its mark in several states since Jan. 13, including Nebraska, Missouri, Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas.

At each stop, a handful of bands compete in a regional talent showcase. The winner is chosen by fans and gets the opportunity to play at the fourth annual Wakarusa Music Festival this summer, a grassroots music festival held at Mulberry Mountain in Ozark, Ark.

“Each year since its relocation, Wakarusa has been graced by over a hundred world-class artists that continue to stir the musical interests of folks from all 50 states and beyond,” according to Wakarusa’s website.

Post Paradise kicks off the competition at Hodi’s at 9 p.m., followed by Mosey West, Twine!, Oak Creek and Good Gravy. Tickets cost $5.
