CU-Boulder head basketball coach Jeff Bzdelik held a meeting with his players Sunday afternoon and is expected to officially accept the head coach position at Wake Forest early this week.

Bzdelik, 57, went 36-58 in three seasons at the helm in Boulder after having success at the Air Force Academy, leading the Falcons to a 50-16 record in two season and an NCAA Tournament berth in 2006.

If he accepts the position, Bzdelik will replace former Wake Forest head coach Dino Gaudio, who went 61-31 in three seasons with the Demon Deacons but only a combined 1-5 in the ACC and NCAA tournaments.

According to the Winston-Salem Journal, Bzdelik and Wake Forest Director of Athletics Ron Wellman are supposed to arrive in Winston-Salem, N.C. on Tuesday to make an official announcement.

Bzdelik and Wellman worked together when the two were at Northwestern University.
