Not to attack you, but I really agree with Mrs. Stauch about your columns. I have read all of them so far and I keep walking away saying, "Okay, what was the purpose of that?" The Collegian has some serious issues in my mind
1) Certain people write columns without knowing what they are talking about/without any facts
2) Certain other people write about nothing
3) And then the editing is horrid (poor grammar, poor spelling)
I challenge the Collegian to purge itself of these things... I don't expect you guys to be the New York Times or Washington Post as far as quality, but I would like a paper that did its job better. Report on things that matter, and more of these things (you do occasionally, but I'm saying in every paper), do more reports of your own (less AP), write more about local events and issues, write opinion columns intended to bring light to issues, spark educational debates, and most importantly in the opinion columns, please use FACTS and backup all opinions with facts. You can't have educational debate without facts... or without something that has substance (not your columns lately). And once again, work on the editing... please!
