You know, if we spent HALF the money we do on Political Advertising alone, we could probably could ease our national debt a LOT.

The funds would then be appropriated by the Pentagon and the Defense contractors. Even the Social Security funds are being tapped by them now. The lid is off the cookie jar. Welcome to the National Securtiy State.

We are giving away America wealth to buy oil from our enemies , and borrowing the money to do it from China.
We have more oil than Saudi Arabia if we were allowed to drill to get it.
We also could follow Frances lead who gets 80% of its energy from Nuclear.
We simply have got to break the strangle of foreign oil.
As I proposed before the main draw back of all electric vehicles is the range before you have to park and recharge.
Well if you regulated the car industry and forced them to make interchangeable batteries that worked in all cars it could work.
You know a big Suv takes 5 batteries and a Toyota Carola 2. Then you generate nuclear electricity and route it through existing electric to all gas stations.
You have a system where you pull in and take out your spent electric cells and replace them with fully charged cells. You pay for the electricity in the fresh cells , and if you have a bad cell you buy a new one at the station.
This system would allow you to drive forever if you choose without stopping except to get fresh cells.
Also instantly all smog from cars would be gone. The plants producing the electricity would be Green also.
we gotta do something before China forecloses.

Good point Concerned citizen. I would love to see the candidates ( all of then ) be limited in what they can spend. Of course McCain is limiting his expenditure by accepting matching public funds.
Obama promised to do so and once he saw he could raise a bunch more money to waste on ads he went back on his word.
How about China and the Olympics. They have so many poor and they spent billions on it.
I have to admit it was awesome but at what cost.
I am voting McCain. One thing I love about him is he has no pork barrel projects for his state yet somehow he got elected and has served for years.
If we just took all the funds used in pork barrel projects we could do some good also.

You miss the real problem with the budget. The budgetary checks and balances of the constitution are not currently in use. The Presidents budgetary control has been bypassed by the courts, and the way budget bills are passed. We need a president that will stand up and say no we are not spending money that is just added to the budget. Yes if congress passed a clean bill, yes the president should spend it as the voice of the people, but the billions of unrelated spending in budget bills added to appease special interests is not the voice of the people and should not be spent. The constitution allows the president this power as the check and balance of the budget process.

I don't really think at this point in time that America is ready for a black president. Chocolate-faced? What kind of childish remark is that? How old are you anyway?
Obama and his people would demand that reparations be paid for slavery and we just can't have that. We don't owe blacks anything. They should be grateful we allow them to live in this country as it is. Don't we care for them through the welfare rolls. Don't we give them free medical care just because they ARE black? Don't we let them have free college educations while Causcasians have to pay, not only their tuition, but the costs of the black students? No, it's time to stop feeding the monster of remorse over slavery. Obama is not the right man for the job right now. Maybe in another 75 to 100 years we can allow a black to assume that office, but not now.
