How many Democrats does it take to screw up an election?
It sounds like the beginning of a joke, and maybe it is. But I'd have to say in terms of election-screwing the Democrats are quite the team players.
As poised as they were to clinch this presidential election -- consider the embarrassing and drastic blunders of the Bush administration -- the Democrats seem to be more focused on clipping their front line....

Ah the inane ramblings of the ex Editor in Chief. I thought now that McSwane is graduated that he would already be working for Moveon.org or the Daily KOS.
Oh that's right , the Society of Professional Journalists condemned his Journalistic Fiasco.
Only one candidate has an actual record. McCain.
Only one candidate can make the claim that he actually is centrist and has reached across the aisle. McCain.
Obama has no record and therefore absolutely not enough experience to lead the free world.
Mcswane mentions Rev. Wright and then dismisses him. But McSwane does not want to bring up the white priest that he has also been friends with for twenty years , and tony Resco , and the man who thinks he did not plant enough bombs.
Now couple that with his racist book and his racist and bigoted comments of his wife , and you would either have to be deaf , dumb and blind , or I guess McSwane to not read the racist , elitist , bigoted writing on the wall.
O noticed that the left claimed that Bush went to war for free oil. What happened to that cry. Bush could just take all the oil he wants and no one could stop him.
Every time the left screams about something and we achieve it they just change the goal lines.
The left is just a big YEA BUT bunch of whining defeatist and Un-American traitors.
Last year in Anbar province the death toll was approx 280 from Jan -May. This year it is 14.
I know areas as large as Anbar province that are not as safe as that in America.
So the surge strategy is working on military and hearts and minds levels , and McSwane and the crazy left want to leave.
Now let's talk about Obamas suicidal foreign policy idea. He said and can't take it back , that he would sit down with no preconditions with terrorists that are currently killing American soldiers.

It was simple really. They asked about twenty Obama supporters from all racers and ages and sex , why they liked Obama.
They got a myriad of Obama bumper sticker slogans. Real Change , etc. , but not one substantive reason.
Then the interviewer asked all these people the telling question. Name one Obama accomplishment.
One out of twenty thought he sort of remembered a bill Obama passed back in his State days.
THAT'S IT PEOPLE. Evey SINGLE OTHER SUPPORTER SRTOOD THERE LIKE IDIOTS AND COULD NOT EVEN LIST ONE ACCOMPLISHMENT.
These are the idiots that may give our nation to a racist , elitist , inexperienced , bigot , who's foreign policy all but guarantees a huge wave of terrorism as all the factions world wide compete to get a sit down with Obama.

I think that putting Obama in charge of a Boy Scout Troop for the summer would be a good idea. It would give him at least a smattering of executive decision-making all on his own, anyway. Obama's never been the lone person with bottom-line responsibility before, so why not give it a try?
There isn't going to be any "committee" in the oval office. It will just be Barak sitting there, making final decisions.

He has no experience and it shows in his niave premise of meeting with world leaders of Terror with no preconditions , and thus encouraging more terror and negotiating from a position of weakness.
You vote for Obama and you'll get change alright. Your Government will be run by a man that doesn't have the experience to even be the top Senator in for the Democrats in the Senate.

I have a question for CSU. So if freshmen are so great and represent positive change , then please tell us all about the hundreds of Freshman on college campus's that are running things in any major capacity and doing a good job.

Then we have watched the left get a chance to use the method they say should have been used in Iraq instead of the military and accomplish nothing. All they have gotten is the contempt of Ahmadinejad as he ramps up nuclear production and laughs at the Liberals and world bodies as weak , appeasing children he can handle.
So the war has actually worked and we are now winning against Al Queda , other terrorists and winning the hearts and minds of the people of Iraq as is evidence by the loyalty of the Sunni Sheiks in Anbar who turned down Osama Bin Ladens pleas of giving him another chance and sided with coalition forces instead.
So we are on the brink of a huge victory in the war on terror and the left is touting putting in an inexperienced , niave , dangerous man whose policies are those that have actually failed to do anything to stop Iran from going nuclear.
Barrack Obama would reverse all of our gains in Iraq and the Middle East and negotiate with people who have so far told negotiators to F themselves and screamed death to America.

I agree Ryan. McSWane will never learn. I think like you that he just likes the attention he gets. He is like a little child that is a bad little boy because when he is bad at least he gets his mommies attention.
I am at a loss as to why McSwane still writes here at the Collegian. I thought with his thought provoking F Bush the New York Times , Daily KOS or Moveon.org would have been lined up competing for his profanity strewn , yellow journalism. LMAO!

Now we know that Obama is in the back pocket of the Ethanol companies. Gee Obama endorses Ethanol , and is beholding to the companies producing it.

McCain also courted and won the endorsement of Texan preacher John Hagee, despite Hagee blaming Hurricane Katrina on New Orleans's liberal attitude towards gays. Hagee believes the disaster was God's judgement on the sinful city. Another McCain-backer, Ohio preacher Rod Parsley, has spouted hate about Muslims. Parsley, whom McCain called a 'spiritual guide', believes America was founded partly in order to destroy Islam. He has called Mohammed a 'mouthpiece of a conspiracy of spiritual evil' and has supported prosecuting people who commit adultery. Though McCain later repudiated the endorsements of Parsley and Hagee, he did so only after bad headlines threatened his moderate image. Most of Hagee's and Parsley's views were widely known from public speeches or books. It was not their bigotry that caught the campaign out, it was the reporting of it. 'McCain has had links with these religious figures who are just way, way out of the mainstream,' says Cliff Schecter.

The past seven years revealed the conservative illusion of protecting America exclusively by a mammoth military has two logical flaws: In the modern world no problem can be solved by an exclusively military response. And, it makes no sense for conservatives to insist on a small, well managed Federal government while maintaining our humongous military establishment be run with no performance expectations. Yet, Republican presidential nominee McCain advocates the same inept conservative military strategy.
The second pillar of conservative ideology is the promise of small government. Since the Reagan presidency, conservatives have contended the federal government needs to be decreased by professional managers. In practice, they have reduced governmental oversight--causing problems such as the recent credit crisis--and filled the vast federal bureaucracy with incompetent political appointments such as Michael Brown and Donald Rumsfeld. John McCain promises to continue the dysfunctional conservative practices that decrease the effectiveness and integrity of Federal programs.
The third pillar of conservatism is tax reduction. Beginning with the Reagan era, conservatives have argued much of the federal government is a waste of money and, therefore, American shouldn't have to pay for it. As a result, the marginal tax rates for individuals and corporations were diminished until today they are roughly half of what they were in 1980. However, while federal revenues diminished, expenditures surged because of the growth of the military establishment and the reality Americans rely upon federal services. During the Bush administration the Federal budget deficit grew to the point where it became a serious impediment to US economic growth. Nonetheless, John McCain continues to advocate lower taxes for the rich and powerful.

Nuclear power still has so many problems that unless the federal government shovels tens of billions of dollars more in subsidies to the industry, and then shoves it down the throat of U.S. utilities and the public with mandates, it is unlikely to see a significant renaissance in this country. Nor is nuclear power likely to make up even 10 percent of the solution to the climate problem globally.
Why? In a word, cost. Many other technologies can deliver more low-carbon power at far less cost. As a 2003 MIT study, "The Future of Nuclear Energy," concluded: "The prospects for nuclear energy as an option are limited" by many "unresolved problems," of which "high relative cost" is only one. Others include environment, safety and health issues, nuclear proliferation concerns, and the challenge of long-term waste management.
Since new nuclear power now costs more than double what the MIT report assumed -- three times what the Economist called "too costly to matter" -- let me focus solely on the unresolved problem of cost. While safety, proliferation and waste issues get most of the publicity, nuclear plants have become so expensive that cost overwhelms the other problems.

George Bush was and is not the enemy of the United States of America, Terrorists are. Vote for Abama is a vote to support the terrorists. Many have questioned his ability to maintain a clear head in a time of crisis. For those of us who have seen these sparks of insanity from McCain, we know all too well that what lies beneath is something dark, ominous and certainly not presidential. John McCain makes reference to his service to our great nation by almost daily reminding us of his five and a half year captivity in the Hanoi Hilton.
