Musket sparks fear in Clark
Abstract:
CSUPD officers paced the halls of the Clark Building Tuesday morning after receiving a report of a gunman entering the building's C wing.
Officers quickly determined that the situation was a false alarm, identifying the "gunman" as associate history professor Robert Gudmestad, who had entered the building with an antique musket rifle....

Craig,
the real funny thing is I had Gudmestad's actual upper division civil war class yesterday afternoon. to me it seems that someone in his survey class who dislikes him probably made the call to the CSUPD, hoping that class would be canceled or something. He had brought in the musket a couple of weeks ago and there was no issue. I feel bad for the guy, but am happy that everything seems to be ok. When he walked into the room and was presented with a standing ovation, the look on his face was absolutely priceless.
cheers buddy!

My Dad worked in a very busy area of Washington D.C. , and the insurance office just happened to be right across the street. He took the rifle and just strolled across the street and up to the office and gave them the gun. By the time he got the paperwork filled out and came back down , the cops were surrounding the building he came out of which also housed a bank. LOL
It all got straightened out but I can empathize with the professor.
