Abstract:
Apparently, transparency between students and university administration is not something valued by CSU President Larry Penley.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., the editorial staff got wind of a secret meeting between our favorite university president and key members of the Fort Collins Coloradoan....

Did the Collegian announce it's F Bush headline before it caused all this. No it met in secret if at all , and just dropped the F Bomb on every student there without asking , or considering their subscribers rights to not be made a part of their rule breaking stupidity.

Then they thumb their nose at even the admonishment of their own student government , and continue to curse and practice shoddy journalism.

Finally they whine that they are not included in this meeting. I would not let these self absorbed juvenile yahoos into any meeting I had. Why so they can tell every one there to F OFF.

God the Collegian is pathetic. Have some dignity and take the consequences of your misguided idiocy , and stop whining for consequences you cause by your actions. You sat there and bellowed about how great it was to break the rules and curse. Then you ignored even the student government and continued to break college rules and curse , and now your crying like little wimps because some one is finally making you take personal responsibility for your actions.

Welcome to the real adult world you pathetic unprofessional juvenile idiots. You made your bed now at least save a modicum of your dignity and take your punishment like adults.

"secret meeting" What a priceless description. I suppose that President Penley should make a public announcement every time he schedules a meeting? Maybe he should also ask the entire student body, faculty, and staff if they are in support of the meeting. If there is disagreement, he should offer a public forum. Imagine how much could be accomplished!

You self indulged babies of the Collegian need to get over yourselves. How many more articles will we see in regards to this SAME topic?

I cannot believe what I just read (BdyGard and arvensis). Deciding whether or not to privatise an institution that has been running for over 100 years is not an average meeting and yes he damn well should include the the entire CSU community when thinking of making a decision of such magnitude. Regardless of the F- bush Comment, we as a student body should have a say in our newspaper. If it was not for us, there would be no reason to advertise in the Collegian. I for one want to see an independant newspaper, that is not soley concerned with keeping the advertisers happy to make money.

First of all Joe Schmitz much respect for using your name.

Here is the problem. You the students are a major part of the school paper but you are not the ultimate part. You come and go administrations are forever. Sorry couldn't resist.

You get my point. I think the best outcome would be for the students them selves to do some house cleaning using the evidence provided in writing since the first admonishment of mcswane to fire him. Then they should hire some kids that will respect the community and it laws.

But the final law is always going to be the administration , and so far the students have completely failed at self governance allowing this one guy and his staff to single handedly destroying the rule of law at CSU and spiraling into anarchy.

So I agree with you that selling the paper is a horrible idea , but until some students have the guts to stand up to McSwane and give the administration some part of the student body to have a little faith in then they give up the right to self determination.

The administration is there to allow you students to self govern within boundaries and you have broken those boundaries completely. I think the administration has actually bent over backwards hoping some body on campus would wake up and do the right thing

Instead there has been general apathy and the small pocket of supporters from the we can do anything we ant crowd you find on any campus.

So please some body have the guts to enforce your own rules and fire McSwane as you start the rebuilding of faith from the administration that you have the morals , ethics and fortitude to enforce and maintain your own society on campus.

It is up to you students what happens to your paper and you. But not up to in in the sense you can just say no and you win. You will ultimately lose trying to take on the administration in support of some imagined right to use profanity.

But you could become mature adults showing them you understand that for any campus to work there must be agreed to laws that are obeyed.

Good Luck
