Destruction of tapes raises serious questions
Abstract:
The Central Intelligence Agency announced late last week the destruction of hundreds of hours of videotape of the interrogations of potential terrorists.
Now the Justice Department and the CIA's internal watchdog want to know why.
The tapes in question showed the "severe interrogations" of Abu Zubaydah and Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, two suspected al Qaeda operatives, according to the New York Times....

"Waterboarding amounts to torture"
"Aggressive forms of interrogation"
And people wonder why 3000 American civilians were slaughtered by suspected potential terrorists.
Perhaps we could lock them in a suite at the Hilton, and give them nothing to read except the Collegian,and have Nancy Pelosi send them flowers every day.
As long as they did not have to meet her, how could it be considered torture?

It's of course very sad that 'torture' has to be used sometimes to extract information from those demonoids. Sad also that some Americans are agonising more over how to ensure those demonoids have a nice time in American prison enjoying nice American food and a protected, cosy life at the expense of American taxpayers. And by doing so, hey presto! they believe those demonoids will happily cough out the needed intelligence about which American city or shopping mall or rail station or airport their demonoid brethren will next launch their suicide attacks!! For what? Well for the promised free sex with 72 voluptuous Paradise virgins, of course!
Well, get the intelligence if the soft psychological approach can work. But don't be such idiots and dogmatic simpletons, you stupid Americans!! Come over to Singapore, and see how we do it! I'm sure we can teach you people a thing or two! For your information, WE ARE THE ONES WHO WERE FIRST TO RUSH DOWN TO ACEH to do jihads---with our soldiers, helicopters, warship, food and supplies to help the tsunami-stricken Muslims there. And then succeeding to invite your kind-hearted George Bush to join us there for the same jihad with his immense warship and loving Marines!
So you stupid Americans must realize that agonising so much for the rights of the devil's agents to be protected for their rights to do more and greater evil against Americans is a very sick form of buffoonery best performed in the circuses of the Never-Never Land! Can anyone be more simple-minded and stupider than this?---agonising more over the rights of those demonoids to be protected by the law to keep silent; to be allowed by law to see classified information or evidence; to be recognised for their constitutional rights to tell lies in court and kill Americans, etc, etc, than over the rights of Americans to be protected from evil and deaths?
Or even questioning the prerogatives of God Himself to punish people in Hell? Or to kill 'innocent' children, women, men and aged people through dreadful earthquakes, tsunamis, violent storms, etc, etc?
Well, I won't be giving out any prizes to anyone for guessing correctly if God Himself will be put under criminal charges by those wooly-headed and upside-down libertarians

Great the tapes were destroyed. If I could have i would have destroyed them my self.
No reason to keep them. The only reason the Liberals and Democrats want the tapes it to one destroy the administration , two to undermine the war and our intelligence agency's , and three to leak it to the press so it can go global and cause the deaths of thousands of people from the backlash.
After all , they show the evil of the islamic fundementalist as we watch them slowly saw a mans head off that is a civilian , and sit here like cowards doing nothing. However if you draw a cartoon of Mohammed ot Allah you get mudered along with any one else they run across when they lose their minds.
So screw the democrats and Liberals. No tapes sorry.

Nice article. I suggest you focusing on the destruction of tapes a little closer to home, like the ones destroyed in the Tim Masters case. I dont think you guys have covered this case at all. Look it up, then write about it. Students should be pissed, and afraid, after reading about this case.
