Wow what a great story Tim. If I get back to Fort Collins I am going to make it a point to meet Gerry.

Gerry understands what I have for years , it is the people , and the memories you create with them that are important in life.

I have had Corvettes , boats , nice houses and great things in life. None of these things matters. The things I find precious are the memories I have.

You kids probably know the movie I am going to reference next. It was a cheap action adventure with a group of guys trapped in the desert and trying to get out with a bunch of diamonds. They kept having to get rid of things as they struggled against the heat. One of the guys was retarded and slow. The other guys noticed he was carrying a leather bag full of rocks.

They told him to lose the rocks and said he was an idiot for carrying them. He told them he could never get rid of his rocks. When they asked why he explained.

He pulled out the first rock and told them it was the rock he picked up right after he got his fist kiss from a girl. Then out came rock number two as he told them he got this one fishing with his Dad on a perfect day. He emptied his bag as he poured out his life. Then he carefully put them back into his bag.

The retard was the only one that knew what life was all about.

Private or not, he's supposed to representing God, not his bigoted prejudices. No one said that all homeless people were angels, but they don't pretend to be like Thebo. Using the title 'Pastor" doesn't make him holier and wiser than anyone with the title of Mr.

As far as blogs go, there's just as much truth, if not more on blogs than the MSM.

I have personally witnessed this "holy" man's behavior and so have a myriad of others. His reputation among the homeless is well deserved. He treats people like garbage unless they're their to donate to his cause, whatever that is. Couldn't be his own pocket, now could it?

Once again you completely ignore the rights of the men in the shelter to sleep without having a gay guy trying to hit on them.

Also this pastor has had gays shower and eat there before and they didn't get kicked out.

I read channel sevens report , and it had real information that the blog completely left out.

Are there blogs that have great information. Yes. This was not one of them.

So all the gays that have eaten and showered at the mission in the past and had no problem with the pastor are to be ignored and one gay guy who gets kicked out because he caused a disturbance in the population that must get along to sleep feet from each other , is somehow the honest one.

Possible sure. Probable not even close to probable. The evidence says this was a situation where one man caused a problem and was kicked out for his behavior.

Now you may not like the rules set by the pastor , and if you don't start your own homeless shelter and perhaps you in your perfection can be more God like than the rest of us mere mortals.

One truth that is absolute is that without that mission which the pastor provides and you denigrate the homeless in Fort Collins would be much worse off.

But hey your entitled to your opinion.

They tried to say that the mission would not accept gay rodeo money.

Here is the missions response and the actual facts.

In a statement to the Gateway, the Open Door Mission's president and CEO Candace Gregory said, "There is some misunderstanding. The Open Door Mission was not offered a donation from the HGRA and indeed was asked permission to use the ODM logo and name to fund raise for an upcoming event. Open Door Mission does not endorse funding activities for the Mission by outside individuals and groups. Outside individuals or groups are not authorized to use the Open Door Mission name or logo to promote a community or fundraising event."

So the Gays rodeo had asked to use their corporate logo for fundraising and they don't allow people to use their logo.

Why didn't you post this information.

Could be the Gay community is trying to set up Thebo because their angry about them not allowing them to use their logo for fundraising for the gay communtiy.

Like I said you are a sloppy reporter and you leave out facts and massage the truth to get your outcome.

1. How many gays have used the mission and what was their experience.

2. how many people total have used the mission and how do they feel.

3. How do straight guys who use the mission feel about gay guys using it.

4. Have Gays hit on straights before.

5. Do straights at the mission denigrate gays

6. Why does Thebo not allow Gays to spend the night?

Like Michelle Obama, I am a 'woman of color.' Like Michelle Obama, I am a working mother of two young children. Like Michelle Obama, I am a member of the 13th generation of Americans born since the founding of our great nation.

Unlike Michelle Obama, I can't keep track of the number of times I've been proud - really proud - of my country since I was born and privileged to live in it. At a recent speech in Milwaukee on behalf of her husband's Democratic presidential campaign, Mrs. Obama remarked, 'For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country, and not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change.'

Mrs. Obama's statement was met with warm applause from other Barack supporters who have also apparently been devoid of pride in their country during their adult lifetimes. Or maybe it was just a Pavlovian response to the word 'change.' What a sad, empty, narcissistic, ungrateful, unthinking lot!

I'm just seven years younger than Mrs. Obama. We've grown up and lived in the same era. And yet, her self-absorbed attitude is completely foreign to me. What planet is she living on? Since when was now the only time the American people have ever been 'hungry for change'? Michelle, ma belle, Barack is not the center of the universe.

Newsflash: The Obamas did not invent 'change' any more than Hillary invented 'leadership' or John McCain invented 'straight talk.' We were both adults when the Berlin Wall fell, Michelle. That was earth-shattering change. We've lived through two decades' worth of peaceful, if contentious, election cycles under the rule of law, which have brought about 'change' and upheaval, both good and bad. We were adults through several launches of the space shuttle, in case you were snoozing. And as adults, we've witnessed and benefited from dizzyingly rapid advances in technology, communications, science, and medicine pioneered by American entrepreneurs who yearned to change the world and succeeded. You want 'change'? Go ask the patients whose lives have been improved and extended by American pharmaceutical companies that have flourished under the best economic system in the world.

If American ingenuity, a robust constitutional republic, and the fall of communism don't do it for you, hon, then how about American heroism and sacrifice? How about every Memorial Day? Every Veterans Day? Every Independence Day? Every Medal of Honor ceremony? Has she never attended a welcome-home ceremony for the troops? For me, there's the thrill of the Blue Angels roaring over cloudless skies. And the somber awe felt amid the hallowed waters that surround the sunken U.S.S. Arizona at the Pearl Harbor memorial.

Every naturalization ceremony I've attended, where hundreds of new Americans raised their hands to swear an oath of allegiance to this land of liberty, has been a moment of pride for me. So have the awesome displays of American compassion at home and around the world. When millions of Americans rallied to help victims of the 2004 tsunami in Southeast Asia - including members of the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group that sped from Hong Kong to assist survivors - my heart filled with pride. It did again when the citizens of Houston opened their arms to Hurricane Katrina victims and folks across the country rushed to their churches and offices of the Salvation Army and Red Cross to volunteer.


How about American resilience? Does that not make you proud, Michelle? Only a heart of stone could be unmoved by the strength, valor, and determination displayed in New York , Washington , D.C., and Shanksville , Pa. , on September 11, 2001 .

I believe it was Michael Kinsley who quipped that a gaffe is when a politician tells the truth. In this case, it's what happens when an elite Democratic politician's wife says what a significant portion of the party's base really believes to be the truth: America is more a source of shame than pride.


Michelle Obama has achieved enormous professional success, political influence, and personal acclaim in America . Ivy League educated, she's been lauded by Essence magazine as one of the 25 World's Most Inspiring Women; by Vanity Fair as one of the ten World's Best-Dressed Women; and named one of 'The Harvard 100' most influential alumni. She has had an amazingly blessed life. But, you wouldn't know it from her campaign rhetoric and her griping about her and her husband's student loans.

For years, we've heard liberals get offended at any challenge to their patriotism. And so they are again aggrieved and rising to explain away Mrs. Obama's remarks. Lady Michelle and her defenders protest too much!
