Rocking her baby girl back and forth in the back of the church, Ashley Griffin's 2-year-old daughter Saleah didn't seem to be getting better after several days of looking ill.
Born with Down syndrome and two heart defects, Griffin figured it was nothing worse than usual.

As classes end and leases expire, dogs and cats in Fort Collins are taking a backseat to many college students' vacation and summer job plans leaving domestic pets abandoned with little or no care on the streets and in vacant rentals.
Local animal rescue organizations are left with the burden of caring for and finding homes for these forgotten pets, which is especially difficult for no-kill, small capacity rescues, such as the Fort Collins Cat Rescue and Animal House Rescue & Grooming.

With a number of staff columnists getting ready to graduate, opinions and diatribes have been replaced with declarations of faith, expressions of gratitude and words of advice.

During the time period immediately following a natural disaster, the last thing a government wants to do is play political hardball with potential aid-giving countries. Unless of course, said government is the military junta ruling Myanmar.
On Thursday, five days after a cyclone devastated the Irrawaddy delta with 120 mph winds and water surges more than fifteen feet high, the junta permitted the first shipment of foreign aid to enter the country, conspicuously refusing aid from the U.

About two months ago I made one of the biggest decisions of my life when I chose to start wearing the hijab (head scarf). I wear it as a symbol of who I am and what I believe, even if it means standing out from the crowd.
I made this decision knowing fully that I live in a society that largely fails to understand the concept of hijab and its meaning to the millions of Muslim women who observe it.

Coming into a program that suffered the lowest average home attendance in more than 10 years last fall, Fairchild has been making strides this spring to connect with the community.
