CSU student-athletes to connect with community at Ram Jam Wednesday
CSU has hundreds of student-athletes who walk the campus on a daily basis. You may have a class with them or brushed shoulders with them while walking through the plaza, but it’s not every day that you can meet that athlete in person an even get an autograph from them.
At the 2014 installment of Ram Jam on Wednesday night, everyone has the opportunity to get up close and personal with their favorite CSU athlete. With virtually every single CSU student-athlete in attendance, admission is free and there will be tons of events and giveaways going on all night long.
“Ram Jam is our single largest community outreach event, aside from actual games that we host,” CSU athletics marketing coordinator Chase Eckerdt said. “It’s essentially a way for us to let kids and community members engage with our athletes.”
In addition to snagging an autograph from your favorite player, the men’s and women’s basketball teams will host a skills competition and a slam dunk contest that will feature guard Carlton Hurst and forward Stanton Kidd.
The Rams work year-round and are excited to be able to host a fun and exciting event for both the entire CSU and Fort Collins community. They want to take the time to thank the community for their unwavering support through both the good and the bad.
“I’m excited to hang out with the kids from the community,” volleyball middle blocker Kelsey Snider said.” It’s a way to show our appreciation and give back to them for their continued support in every athletic event. It will also be so much fun to share and teach the game we love to them.”
