With the major danger in Colorado shifting from fire to flood, Gov. John Hickenlooper has lifted the statewide fire bans that have been in place since June 14. Many counties are expected to move from extreme or high fire danger to moderate or low fire danger over the next week.
However, fire season is not over and some counties, including Larimer, will continue to experience high fire danger. The Board of Larimer County Commissioners have voted to keep the ban on fires in unincorporated areas of Larimer County through September 30.
