Steve Abt has been named the interim dean of the College of Engineering, by Provost Rick Miranda. Abt will take the place of Sandy Wood, who resigned to take a position at Oregon State University. Abt served as the interim dean of the College of Engineering in 2004 and last year came out of retirement to serve as the temporary Senior Facilities Advisor to Vice President for Operations Amy Parsons before she named Steve Hultin director of Facilities Management.
CSU provided me an educational and experiential foundation that guided me throughout my career,” Abt said. “I am excited to have the opportunity to once again serve and give back to the institution.”
Abt has more than 39 year of experience in Engineering.
“The university community takes comfort in knowing Dr. Abt will help the college continue to thrive and grow in preparation for its next leader,” Miranda said.
